The Dwelling...and ears

The dwelling is under complete chaos!!! So March came in like an lion and out like a lion, should April be any different. Typically April is such a rainy season for us, but not this year. We have only had about an inch of rain. We can't complain though. Many flowers have sprung and the trees are beginning to green. So, the dwelling... Since we moved into our home nearly two years ago, it has been one job after another. This month and next will be no different. In fact, things are moving into hyperdrive. The list includes, but is not limited to, 1. New windows in the house, 2. Painting the Garage Door and House Trim, 3. Painting the rest of the AWFUL peeling house, 4. Driveway getting ripped out for a new sewer line to be installed (for some reason when they built the house, they put the sewer line under the driveway--WHAT LUCK!!!), 5. A new driveway being poured, 6. A new walkway to the front door being poured, 7. The back concrete patio being ripped out and a new one poured, 8. A patio door being put in the family room in place of the standard door, 9. Cleaning up the mess outside (landscaping, etc.), 10. Installing a basketball hoop on the side of the driveway, etc. Let's just say I'm plain exhausted just thinking about it. It will be wonderful once it is all over! We'll try to post updates as things progress. Somehow we are going to take care of the kids while this is going on as well. Don't ask me how.

Nathan had his surgery yesterday and is doing well. He is a clingy and "mama" desiring, but all in all doing well. He goes in for a checkup in 2 1/2 weeks. We are so thankful that everything went so well. I was out of town in upstate Michigan (yeah I know--"up north") while the surgery was going on. Somehow I kept my wits about me, facilitated a successful workshop, and managed to keep breathing while being surrounded by Michigan fans. I'm so glad we have Tressel and are going to kill them again this year!!!

Laura is still hanging in there and managing the stresses and strains of taking care of the four kids while I travel for work. Quite frankly, I can't fathom how she does it. She even found time to scrape and paint the kitchen walls and ceiling while I was away a couple weeks ago. It's truly amazing!!!

Oh well, I'm exhausted as I am running on a few hours of sleep and worked outside all afternoon.

'Til next time!!!

-Tim
