So the house continues to go through its metamorphisis. You may or may not notice great difference from the pictures of 2 years ago. All of the normal sized windows have been replaced. The big bow window in the front of the house will stay old for a long while yet. $$$ The garage door is now painted white. Half of the fencing around the front walk is removed in preparation for the concrete work. The other half will come down too, just not yet. I have been a little occupied with other things. Laura transplanted the shrubs from the from of the house to the side of the house. Notice the lack of 4' weeds on the front left corner of the house!! Laura took care of those right after we moved in. The two trees in the front yard were cut down yesterday! It's amazing how much more sunlight is in the house. Now we just have to take care of all the wood that is in the front yard. I might just leave it there as a memorial to the trees that once were..... NOT!!! Laura's first comment when I asked her what she thought about the trees being gone was, "It's bare!" Yes, our house is now bare and exposed to passerbyes... We'll have to work on the landscaping later on... The next focus is the painting. Hopefully the weather will get a little more condusive to painting so that we can have most of it done before the excavating starts May 12th. We'll see. The snow showers this morning put a little damper on our hopes! Stay Tuned.
SURVEY: We are painting the house green (see pic below). All of the trim will be Bright White like the garage door. Do you think we should put "Black" shutters on the house or none at all? Disclaimer: Your answer will determine who you are really friends with, Tim or Laura... Happy choosing!!! :)

HEY! It's lookin good guys! Can you believe how just the littlest things can make a HUGE difference! (not that pulling out trees and everything else is some small task) Anyhow, Gene and I both think that shutters (black) would look awesome. It makes such a big difference...makes it look more "homey" if you know what we mean. Anyhow...good luck with the rest and we are looking forward to getting together with you guys soon!
Hi Laura and Tim,
My favorite color is green - any shade. So my choice would be a lighter shade of complimentary green shutters. Not black. Not none. So can I stay friends of both of you?
Looks like hard work, but it will give you a great sense of accomplishment when you are all done. Then you can start over...
Rain
Blue and maize or my personal fave gold and maroon no I think without go for the clean look
